Calder Race Course
Anthony Schweiker (house handicapper)
Best Bet – Race 8: Candyman E (PP: 8 ML 5/2)
Anthony’s Comments:
finished second in his debut at this level behind return winner John Johny Jak. He was challenged on the front end in that one and should show the way on the lead once again.”
Tony Callet (house handicapper)
Best Bet – Race 8: Candyman E (PP: 8 ML 5/2)

Del Mar Racetrack
Brad Free (DRF)
Best Bet – Race 3: Move On Gypsy (PP: 7 ML 5/2)
Brad’s Comments:
The turf rails are moved to a zero-foot setting for this race. It is unknown if the configuration will make a difference in closers friendly course profile, however. So far this summer, closers have been dominant on turf regardless of the rail setting. MOVE ON GYPSY is getting better. Her runner-up finish last time, in her first around two turns, was solid. She was hounded through a strong pace over a turf course not favoring speed, and still held second behind the perfect-trip favorite. ‘GYPSY must learn to ration her speed, and if she does, she should win. Each race has been better than the one before.”

Woodbine Racetrack (thoroughbred)
Jim Bannon (house handicapper)
Best Bet – Race 2: Carbon Footprint (PP: 2 ML 9/5)
Jim’s Comments”
is a factor; he ran so much better in his seasonal bow than he did in his finale last November; in that reintroduction July 28th that came off turf, he was able to draw in and chase in third behind a heavily preferred winner in an event where the favourites took the top three spots; Sutherland takes over for Gail Cox and blinkers are back on after a one race absence.”
